Location: Based at Head Office nr Taunton,field work across the southwest
Contract: Full time (45 hours per week)
As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting for more Service Engineers to join our team based from our head office in Wiveliscombe, Somerset with field jobs covering the South West.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment of sewage and water‑related systems. Working directly with customers on-site, you’ll ensure systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards.
Installing, maintaining and fault‑finding on sewage treatment systems and pump stations
Working with pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical components
Carrying out basic electrical diagnostics and fault finding
Conducting system checks including field tests, smoke testing and sampling
Providing clear, timely updates to clients
Completing all documentation to a high standard
Travelling across the South West, including occasional overnight stays (typically around five nights per quarter)
Systems you may work on: Pumping stations, sewage treatment plants, septic tanks, potable water systems, rainwater harvesting units and related equipment.
Knowledge of wastewater products, including sewage treatment systems and pump stations
Strong understanding of pumps, motors, pipework, valves and mechanical systems
Basic electrical skills, including fault finding
Previous experience in a similar Service Engineer role (water industry preferred, but mechanical/electrical backgrounds also considered)
Valid UK driving licence
Self‑motivated, punctual and well organised
Strong customer service and problem‑solving skills
Able to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider team
Willingness to travel across the South West and stay away when required
Experience within sewage, wastewater or water treatment
CSCS card or confined space certification
Familiarity with relevant regulations (training can be provided)
Salary & Benefits
This is a full‑time, permanent position with a salary between £32,500 – £45,000 depending on experience, plus overtime opportunities (approximately 1 in 5 weeks).
