Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd are recruiting for a Site Engineer (enabling works) with a Civils bias to join an Overhead Lines Project (OHL) in Argyle, Scotland. You will focus on supporting the team in enabling works phase of the overhead lines sites prior to tower assembly and erection.
As a Civils Site Engineer, you will oversee daily health & safety protocols for staff and subcontractors, report incidents, manage project resources, ensure compliance with safety standards, support the Construction and Project Managers with documentation and reporting, and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing team at Wood T&D. This role is site-based on a long-term project in Argyll supporting our client SSE.

The Role
Reporting to the OHL Construction Manager, you will oversee the Enabling Works and Access Roads management team, coordinate foremen and subcontractors, liaise with clients and third parties, and manage the People to Work process, including onboarding and site inductions. You will support a growing workload across overhead lines (OHL) projects, contributing to the UK's pathway to 2030 and the transition to net zero.
This role is suitable for someone seeking a sideways move or their next step as a Site Engineer. We welcome applications from both established site engineers and first-time site engineers from a linesman background within transmission and distribution, construction, or utilities. Expected qualifications and experience:
* Industry experience in a similar role
* Recognized Safety Qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
* Experience managing subcontractors and recording measurements for financial settlement
* Supervisory experience in construction, access, and related works (desirable)
* Willingness to work away from home regularly
* Experience with enabling, access roads, and foundation construction in power transmission projects
* Coordination with third parties (local councils, highway authorities, etc.)
