The job itself
Support worker wanted to support an 11 year old boy with ADHD, Autism and developmental delay that resides in Stamford Bridge access activities in the community. He enjoys playing football, swimming, rebound/trampolining, and being active.
He doesn't understand social interactions and can be verbally inappropriate so needs prompting and support with this. He also requires support staying safe and with his personal care needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Encouraging the recipient to engage in activities.
2. Helping to improve their social skills.
3. Settling and supporting the individual.
4. Keeping them safe in the community.
5. Supporting their personal care needs.
6. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities.
7. Encouraging social interaction and providing emotional support.
This role is for 4 hours per week during term time and 8 hours during the school holidays.
The suitable candidate must:
8. Be patient, caring and understanding.
9. Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
10. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
11. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
12. Have current driving licence and transport.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS Check.
