Overview
Wrexham County Borough Council is looking to recruit an experienced Childcare Lawyer to join their existing team of Lawyers. 37 hours a week. G11 - £44,711-£47,754 Per Annum.
Responsibilities
As Childcare Lawyer you will join the already existing team of lawyers; the team is a small but friendly team. You will also benefit from the skills and support of two paralegals for the team. You will work directly advising the social care department in relation to the legal safeguarding of children. No two days are the same and you will need to be adaptable and flexible and prepared to react to difficult and pressurised situations. You will be able to provide robust and risk-assessed advice and expect a varied and challenging caseload. The ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as a team is essential.
Requirements / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare or family law, and ideally have local authority experience. However, candidates from private practice who have solid understanding of public law are encouraged to apply, too. The Council uses an electronic case management system and so good IT skills are a must.
You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive (with litigation advocacy rights) with a current Practising Certificate.
