Specialist Support Workers & Specialist Senior Support Workers (Waking Nights) Location: Belfast Salary: Up to £35,500 (Senior role) & up to £28,500 (SW role) per annum Hours: 37.5 per week Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 11th September 2025 11am About the Role At Positive Futures, we support people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and autism, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives. As a Specialist Support Worker, youll be at the heart of this mission, providing essential support and making a real impact. WhatYoullBe Doing Providing Person Centred Support Supporting people to be safe and healthy Supporting independence, social and communication skills Coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers Specialist Support Workers stay alert and present overnight, offering reassurance, help with routines, or simply being there when someone wakes. Senior roles also provide this essential support, while leading the team, coordinating tasks, and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly. To be successful in this role,youllneed: Specialist Support Worker Essential Criteria To apply for this role, you MUST have: One of the following: 3 years experience in a health or social care setting. OR QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent*) AND have a minimum of 2 years experience in a health and social care setting * It is the applicants responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent. OR QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent*) AND have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a health and social care setting * It is the applicants responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent. OR Psychology Degree AND have a minimum of 1 years experience in a health and social care setting. OR Psychology master's degree AND have a minimum of 1 years experience in a health and social care setting. ? AND At least 1 years' experience of working with people with a learning disability OR autism. At least 1 years' experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support. Full, valid driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post. Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body. Specialist Senior Support Worker Essential Criteria To apply for this role, you MUST have: One of the following: 4 years experience in a health or social care setting. OR QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent*) AND have a minimum of 3 years experience in a health and social care setting * It is the applicants responsibility todemonstratehow their qualification is equivalent. OR Psychology Degree AND have a minimum of 3 years experience in a health and social care setting. OR Psychology Master's Degree AND have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a health and social care setting. OR A professional social work qualification. OR Be a first level registered nurse. OR Be an allied health professional. AND At least 2 years experience of working with people with a learning disability OR autism. At least 2 years experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support. Previous experience providing input to developing and implementing person centred support plans (Care Plans). Full driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post. Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body.
