Contract Job Title: Credit Risk Manager / Assistant Manager – Wholesale Problem Loans
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to London as required)

Role Overview
We are supporting a Tier 1 banking client on an engagement focused on Wholesale Problem Loan Management and Resolution.
We are looking for Manager and Assistant Manager level professionals with experience in wholesale credit risk, particularly in problem loans, recoveries, restructuring, or resolution of corporate lending exposures.
This role will involve supporting the review and management of defaulted or distressed wholesale credit exposures, including detailed credit file reviews, governance, and resolution processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the review and management of wholesale problem loans, including defaulted or distressed exposures
• Contribute to the recoveries and resolution process, ensuring appropriate treatment and progression of problem loans through to resolution/repayment
• Conduct detailed credit file reviews, assessing quality, completeness, and adherence to policy
• Assist in analysing credit risk frameworks, governance, and monitoring processes
• Work closely with stakeholders across credit risk, restructuring, and operations teams
• Support data sourcing and analysis to inform reviews and decision-making
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience within Financial Services / Banking, specifically in Wholesale Credit Risk
• Exposure to problem loans, recoveries, restructuring, or resolution processes (corporate / wholesale lending)
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in reviewing credit documentation and loan files
• Experience operating in a delivery-focused, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and business analysis skills
Desirable Skills
• Experience with detailed loan file reviews (e.g. asset quality reviews or similar)
• Exposure to data sourcing and working with credit/risk data
• Understanding of credit governance and risk frameworks
