Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be exclusively recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of an exclusive private clinic renowned for its exceptional patient care and high-quality clinical services. The Role This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. Working closely with the Accountant and wider administration team, you will manage both sales and purchase ledgers, monitor payments, and support the clinics financial processes with a high level of care and attention. The position would suit someone who is highly organised, numerically strong, and comfortable engaging with both patients and external suppliers. Key Responsibilities Sales Ledger & Credit Control Maintain and update patient accounts Issue accurate invoices for appointments, treatments, and services Reconcile sales invoices against receipts and adjustments Monitor outstanding balances and ensure ledgers are up to date Follow up on overdue accounts via phone, email, or written communication Agree repayment arrangements and resolve invoice queries Escalate overdue accounts in line with internal procedures Build and maintain positive relationships with patients while ensuring timely payment Purchase Ledger Management Process and verify incoming invoices Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery records Resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally Maintain schedules of outstanding invoices Prepare payment runs for approval and ensure timely vendor payments Maintain accurate supplier information Reporting & Financial Support Prepare weekly and monthly reports for sales, purchases, debtors, and creditors Maintain accurate records of payments, disputes, and reconciliations Assist with cashflow forecasting and management reporting Support month-end and year-end accounting processes General Administration Provide administrative support to the finance function as required Manage sensitive patient information confidentially and in line with regulations Support the wider team with ad-hoc finance or administration tasks The Individual We are seeking someone who is detail-driven, organised, and confident working in a busy office environment. You will be comfortable handling financial information, speaking with patients, and managing deadlines. Strong communication, empathy, and professionalism are essential in this patient-facing environment. Skills & Experience Essential At least 3 years current experience in an accounts or credit control role Strong understanding of accounting processes and ledgers Experience producing invoices, managing reconciliations, and handling payments Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Xero) and MS Office Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy D Next Steps If you are an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to join a highly reputable and exclusive private clinic, we would be delighted to hear from you.
