Cardiff &Vale UHW is the largest in the Principality, providing a national centre for many aspects of healthcare and education in Wales. TheUniversity Hospital of Wales (UHW) is situated in Cardiff, a cosmopolitan city with excellent cultural and leisure facilities, good shopping, beautifulparks and easy access to the M4.
We are looking for qualified nurses with the paediatric Intensive care qualification (415) With sufficient experience.
Main duties of the job
The Paediatric Critical Care Unit has undergone an expansion and currently comprises of 7 Intensive Care beds and 4 High Dependency beds for the children who require our care. The children we care for range from 0-16 years and cover all specialties.
Our Paediatric Critical Care Unit offers a combined unit with ITU and HDU patients on the same unit and this allows our nursing team to gain skills in both areas. We nurse all our children to PICS standards and are recruiting to have a strong senior nursing team to lead this level of care UHW becoming the Major Trauma Centre for Wales. We are extremely proud of our PCCU, and have on-going commitment to enhancing practice and staff development.
Applications are invited from experienced critical care nurses who wish to progress their careers and who are keen to lead a team and expand their leadership and management skills.
