Role Introduction
My client is a global specialist in the design and manufacture of anti-ligature door systems for mental health hospitals and other secure facilities where there is a risk of patient self-harm.
The door systems are unique in the way that they are supplied fully-assembled and often have anti-barricade hinges, ligature pressure sensors and other specialist hardware that requires a high-level of expertise and care to ensure the product operates correctly.
My client supplies to NHS mental health trusts across the UK, this is either directly or through their supply-chain, the door systems are provided on a supplyonly basis or increasingly as a supply and install package.
Responsibilities and Duties
The role of the assembly operative is to support the Alarm team. The department assembles bespoke alarm systems for our global customers. This role is based in Sidcup. Good communication and collaboration skills are essential. A naturally enthusiastic organiser with great attention to detail.
• Assembly of Door Hatches, small metal components including strike plates, lock keeps and overhead closers.
• Able to use various hand tools including drills, small milling machines & chop saw
• Adhere to all Health & Safety
• Lean Manufacturing
• Work to a Smartsheet schedule per week
• Pick materials as requested per job sheet
• Provide an excellent service throughout, respecting and maintaining the company core values of: Happy Customers, Perfect Products & Winning Team.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in assembly role the following skills and experience are required:
• A track record in a metal assembly role, Full training will be given
• A keen eye for detail
• Able to work from drawings and Specifications to carry out the assembly of all Hardware materials
• Able to use a variety of hand tools
• A confident communicator, both spoken and written with the ability to relate information to the team leader
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with people and build trust with team and stakeholders
• Dependable, proactive and working smart
• Good judgement, self-motivation and excellent organisation skills
• Able to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the high level of accuracy and confidentiality needed
