Silverstone, UK - £55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits
Full-Time, On-Site
The Company
A historic and iconic name in motorsport engineering with over 60 years of race-winning innovation. Now entering a new era under ambitious ownership, the team is scaling and investing heavily in new vehicle programmes and advanced motorsport technologies.
Based at the heart of British motorsport in Silverstone, this is a hands-on engineering environment where decisions are made quickly and everyone’s work has a direct impact on track performance.
The Role
This role is focused on hands-on electrical build, loom design, assembly, and integration for high-performance motorsport vehicles.
You’ll take ownership of:
• Wiring loom design
• Loom manufacture and assembly
• Electrical component installation
• Vehicle build support
• Testing, fault-finding, and track support
This is not a purely strategic systems role. It is for someone who enjoys being on the tools, in the workshop, solving real build and integration challenges.
You’ll work closely with mechanical build teams, vehicle performance engineers, and the wider electrical group to ensure clean, reliable, motorsport-grade electrical system execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build bespoke motorsport-grade wiring looms (engine, chassis, hybrid, HV/LV).
• Assemble, route, and integrate looms into prototype and race vehicles.
• Specify connectors, terminations, shielding, sleeving, and harness protection.
• Support vehicle build, testing, shakedown, and track runs where required.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics, continuity checks, and component validation.
• Work closely with design engineering teams to ensure accurate system integration.
• Maintain documentation and build standards for repeatable production quality.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven hands-on loom build experience in motorsport (essential).
• Strong proficiency with Autosport/Mil-Spec wiring practices.
• Confident with LV systems and ideally some HV experience.
• Able to read and create wiring schematics and harness drawings.
• Comfortable working in a workshop or build bay environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Confident communicator who works well in fast-paced project teams.
Nice to Have
• Experience integrating motorsport ECUs, sensors, and data systems.
• Familiarity with CAN tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with hybrid or EV race systems.
Why This Role?
• Work at the forefront of competitive motorsport vehicle development.
• Be the go-to specialist shaping electrical build standards.
• Influence how vehicles are executed and race-readiness is achieved.
• Work in a highly collaborative environment where your work is valued daily.
