Assistant Clerk of Works role at WorkSmart eBusiness Solutions. 37 hours per week, permanent, based at our Head Office in Castleford. Flexible work within the Vico Homes operating area.
Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for an Assistant Clerk of Works to join our Development Team. This role involves supporting the Clerk of Works to ensure development and regeneration projects are delivered to the highest standards, adhering to current legislation and regulatory requirements, with building and site safety as paramount. You will also help maintain efficient programme delivery while upholding relevant procedures and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
* Monitor the quality of all materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with the building contract/development agreement and drawings/specifications. Carry out snagging and technical inspections to ensure completion to the required standard.
* Review project plans and contribute to design development, including reviewing pre-contract drawings and documentation; identify potential issues in advance. Attend pre-contract meetings as required.
* Inspect construction works to ensure compliance with the Contract, Building Regulations, CDM and Health and Safety regulations, aligned with sector best practice.
What you’ll do
* Make recommendations about any aspect of the works regarding quality, health and safety and adherence to technical standards which do not conform to plans, specifications, schedules of works or legislation.
* Prepare and attend snagging inspections ensuring rectification prior to the issue of the Certificate of Practical Completion; manage defect liability period.
* Identify snagging trends and patterns to prevent recurrence on future schemes; support the relevant manager with post-scheme reviews and continuous learning.
* Liaise with local residents and stakeholders to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
What we’re looking for
* A qualification at Level 3 and willingness to work towards CIOB Professional Accreditation or equivalent.
* Ability to write reports and present information in different formats.
* Knowledge of Construction New Build products and programmes; knowledge of New Build, development, acquisition and sales.
