The Community Therapy Team South Cumbria is seeking a motivated, proactive, and adaptable physiotherapist to develop our services for residents and the community in Westmorland and Furness.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join the South Cumbria Community Therapy Team, mainly based at Parkview Gardens Intermediate Care Unit in Barrow in Furness, with opportunities to work in the community and patients' homes.
Our team is supportive and welcoming, with active support from clinical leads.
Service Hours:
* Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 18:30
* Saturday & Sunday: 09:00 - 17:00 (on roster)
Secondment opportunities are considered with current line manager approval.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with complex problems in their homes, community hospitals, or residential/nursing homes.
2. Manage own caseload autonomously without direct supervision.
3. Develop specialist clinical skills through training, courses, and shadowing.
4. Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, and professionals, including accurate record-keeping.
5. Assist in planning and delivering team and departmental training and education.
6. Supervise physiotherapy support staff, assistants, Band 5 physiotherapists, and students.
7. Participate in research and audit activities.
8. Oversee clinical education and practice of physiotherapy undergraduates on placement.
Hospital Locations:
We operate from Furness General Hospital (Barrow), Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital (Kendal), along with community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
