About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our team, delivering flexible and individualized care packages to our residents in Southampton. Your work will be instrumental in helping our young people develop new skills and build trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate support to children and young people, understanding the unique challenges they face.
* Work a rotating shift pattern, including 24-hour shifts with sleep-ins, ensuring availability to meet the needs of our residents.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of our young people, establishing positive and trusting relationships.
* Encourage the development of individual interests and skills in our young people.
* Collaborate effectively within a supportive team environment, accepting guidance and direction.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children and young people, with a solid understanding of the issues they face.
* Flexibility to work 7 x 24-hour shifts over a 3-week rotation.
* A willingness to pursue a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent, with the goal of upgrading to a Level 4 diploma.
* A full UK driving license and access to a car for travel purposes.
* Excellent communication and listening skills, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
* Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Southampton, with a shift pattern that includes sleep-ins. You will be part of a dedicated team trained in 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting, ensuring you have the tools to provide the best support possible.
