Advanced Clinical Support Worker – Lancaster District Nursing Team
A rare opportunity has arisen within the Lancaster District Nursing team for an advanced Clinical Support Worker. The post is for 37.5 hours per week over 5 working days and requires flexibility to cover days, weekends and evenings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide basic nursing care to patients in the community setting as part of the district nursing team.
* Carry out an extended role of clinical tasks independently, including taking bloods, administering medication via injection, wound care, catheter care, skin condition management, and pressure ulcer care.
* Assist the Clinical Team with data entry and administrative duties.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including adult social care, GP's, hospital staff, patients, relatives and carers.
* Manage workload to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner and all tasks are completed each shift.
* Order stock and equipment and perform additional clerical duties.
* Communicate daily with patients, carers, relatives and primary health care team members.
* Participate in achieving measurable standards of care, clinical audit and health‑promotion activities.
* Demonstrate excellent communication with patients, relatives and professionals and be willing to train in extended clinical skills such as venepuncture, sub‑cutaneous injections, skin and wound care, palliative care and catheter care.

* Worksite: Lancaster District Nursing Team; operating from Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal and community premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital (Morecambe) and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
