Who we are
Reed in Partnership’s Employability Division supports people who are unemployed, economically inactive or facing challenges such as health conditions, disabilities or caring responsibilities. We have helped over 250,000 people with tailored support including careers guidance, CV writing, interview preparation and skills training.
Our Restart Scheme, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, provides up to 12 months of personalised support for long‑term unemployed people referred by their local Job Centre Plus.
What is the role about?
Employment Advisers are the front line, directly contributing to our mission by supporting jobseekers (our participants), engaging with local employers and promoting the benefits of the Restart Scheme within the local community.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of a caseload of long‑term unemployed jobseekers, identify their barriers, and create tailored action plans.
* Deliver personalised, one‑to‑one guidance on CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
* Meet and exceed performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Collaborate with participants to shift their mindset, build confidence and find sustainable work.
* Engage with local employers to identify job opportunities.
* Signpost participants to internal and external stakeholders to address barriers such as health, housing or financial challenges.
* Promote the Restart Scheme within the community and raise awareness of its benefits and impact.
* Provide inclusive support and advice to people from all backgrounds.

To be successful in this role
We are looking for someone with:
* Coaching/mentoring experience and persuasion/influencing skills through previous work or social activities.
* Experience in a customer‑facing environment (e.g., Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Sales).
* Experience in a fast‑paced, performance target‑driven environment.
* Willingness to travel locally to meet customers and employers.
* A minimum of 2 A‑Levels or an equivalent Level3 Diploma and GCSE English Language at a minimum of a GradeB.
* Achievement of a Level2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage, or International equivalents.
* Fluency in more than one language (desirable).
