Production DBA
We’re looking for a Production DBA to join our Infrastructure team in Leighton Buzzard, supporting our business and IT departments. This role will expand an already established team of DBAs, Engineers, and Analysts to support the Group’s growth.
You will work with talented professionals who are eager to adopt the latest technologies. This role requires strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset. It offers an opportunity for someone looking to enter or deepen their expertise in the data domain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the Connells Group Database Environment.
* Provide SQL support to Operations and Development teams.
* Collaborate with third parties to resolve issues with bespoke systems.
* Perform capacity management and security audits regularly.
* Maintain data security within the database estate.
* Document and implement all SQL configuration changes.
* Implement development application changes.
* Enforce group security controls and best practices.
* Work closely with IT Development teams on troubleshooting production systems.
Skills Required:
* 3-5 years of solid DBA experience.
* Advanced T-SQL skills.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
* Proficiency with PowerShell.
* Experience with automation deployment tools such as Azure DevOps and OctopusDeploy.
* Understanding of best practices in IT operations, HADR, and high availability.
* Good knowledge of Windows Server Administration and IIS.
Desirable Skills:
* Ability to read and understand programming languages like VB.NET & C# .NET.
* Experience with Azure cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
* Application administration skills.
* Experience with virtualization software such as Hyper-V.
* Degree or professional qualifications in a computer-related discipline (e.g., Microsoft certifications).
