Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Therapist
Axcis is working with an alternative provision college in Exeter that provides high-quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with SEMH, anxiety, and SEND needs, including students with significant gaps in their schooling.
We are seeking a passionate Speech and Language Therapist committed to making a positive impact on young people's lives. The role involves working alongside counsellors and student support workers to deliver social skills sessions, as well as direct and indirect therapy.
The students aim for diverse futures, including careers as artists, chefs, or bus drivers. They create personalized curriculums, including maths and English, participate in apprentice schemes, community projects, and receive counseling, key skill exams, 1-1 LSA support, and therapy sessions.
We are looking for a flexible, adaptable, and dedicated individual with experience working with pupils with SpLD and some SEMH difficulties. The role is flexible depending on student referrals and may be full or part-time, with hours from 9:00 to 16:00, including hourly sessions with the counseling team. The hourly rate ranges from £35 to £45, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Skills and Requirements
* Registered Speech and Language Therapist or qualified but new to the profession
* Knowledge of SEMH, MLD, co-occurring difficulties, and autism spectrum conditions
* Experience in running social communication groups (preferred)
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team focused on pupils' learning and wellbeing
