Overview
Job summary: Providing a range of psychological interventions for children and young people using the latest evidence-based practices. Supervising assistant psychologists and psychology graduates (Therapeutic Practitioners) to provide psychological interventions. Responsible for assessments (including risk assessments), formulation and recommendations for psychological support. Formulation and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment and management of cases.
Job responsibilities
* Provide a range of psychological interventions for children and young people using evidence-based practices.
* Supervise assistant psychologists and psychology graduates (Therapeutic Practitioners).
* Be responsible for assessments (including risk assessments), formulation and recommendations for psychological support.
* Formulate and deliver care plans involving psychological treatment and case management.
* Train and guide support staff to provide psychologically informed practices across the home.
* Implement evidence-based psychological interventions, evaluate treatment options, monitor outcomes for your caseload, and supervise others.
* Participate in evidence-based recommendations to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessments and interventions, and to deliver the plan of care while minimising risk.
* Provide clinical assessments and interventions in line with Cambian policies and procedures; adhere to NICE guidelines and best practice standards.
* Attend and contribute to CMAP meetings, multidisciplinary meetings and other professional reviews.
* Maintain accurate records of clinical input and participate in regular clinical supervision and service development initiatives.
* Be part of a wider MDT with access to a Consultant Psychologist at a sister site.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
* Postgraduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
* Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation.
* Experience/knowledge of routine clinical outcomes monitoring and clinical risk assessment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills; ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload; strong literacy and report writing.
* Experience of managing complex caseloads and applying a range of interventions.
Desirable:
* Experience delivering specialist assessments in Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
* Knowledge of developmental trauma and supporting families with looked-after/adopted children.
Additional Information
The post is advertised for a maximum of 32 hours part time, flexible and weekdays only. The clinical psychologist will be part of a wider MDT and will have access to a Consultant Psychologist working at a sister site in Newmarket.
