Environment Manager
To assist the Group Head of Environment in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System across all Group companies. This includes ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, supporting audits and inspections, identifying opportunities for continual improvement, and promoting environmental best practices. Additionally, to provide dedicated environmental support to Toolstation, helping the business meet its sustainability goals and integrate environmental considerations into day-to-day operations.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Support the Group Head of Environment with implementation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMs). Maintenance of operating procedures and development of guidance to support the business.
2. Drive the internal environmental audit programme across Distribution Centres and Branches ensuring compliance with legislative minimum legal requirements, in particular waste, water management and other ESG topics.
3. Provide subject matter expertise - partnering with BU teams supporting and upskilling colleagues on environmental aspects.
4. Supporting environmental incident reporting, investigation and trend analysis for internal / external reporting and highlighting opportunities for improvement.
5. Lead on environmental data reporting
6. Provide environmental support to support bids / tenders and respond to customer requests
7. Support with the production and delivery of training events (online and face-to-face) to colleagues across the business.
What you’ll need to have/be:
8. Professional qualification in a relevant field (degree level)
9. Practical experience of managing / implementing ISO 14001 environmental management systems in multi site business.
10. At least 3 years related experience
11. Practical experience of working with environmental regulators
12. Developing and delivering projects across multiple businesses and functions.
