Our client seeks an enthusiastic Principal Ecologist to join the terrestrial ecology division, delivering projects for high-profile clients across the UK.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the management team and the wider terrestrial ecology team, influencing current work streams and expanding the customer base across the UK.
Requirements include extensive survey experience, including leading protected species surveys and mitigation projects, and a proven track record of managing a terrestrial ecology portfolio within a consultancy setting. Up-to-date knowledge of EU and UK legislation on ecology and environmental issues, Ecological Impact Assessments, and planning regulations is essential. The candidate should have experience providing authoritative ecological advice and innovative mitigation solutions across various sites and schemes.
An excellent communicator who enjoys collaborative work and supporting the development of junior ecologists is preferred.
Experience in leading and motivating teams, along with a proven work-winning record, including preparing bids and tenders and generating new business opportunities, would be advantageous.
