Job Description
MSL is a leading provider of specialist insurance products and services across motor, taxi and learner driver markets. We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to develop key relationships, win new opportunities and drive sustainable growth, underpinned by strong FCA/Consumer Duty standards.
What you’ll do
* Build, manage and grow relationships with brokers/partners to deliver new business
* Identify and convert new opportunities across existing and emerging markets
* Lead commercial negotiations and support the implementation of new partner agreements (with Legal, Underwriting and Compliance)
* Use MI and Salesforce to manage pipeline, track performance and improve decision-making
* Bring market insight, competitor intel and partner feedback to support product/proposition development
* Represent MSL at broker meetings, events and conferences
* Ensure distribution activity aligns with target markets, fair value and good customer outcomes
What we’re looking for
* Proven track record in business development within insurance and/or motor claims
* Strong knowledge of broker distribution
* Confident working to FCA regulation and Consumer Duty expectations
* Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
* Commercially minded: understands profitability, not just volume
* Strong communication skills and a structured approach to reporting/KPIs
* Experience in motor/taxi/learner or niche markets is a bonus (not essential)
