MDWA is a dedicated provider of support services for women, children, and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. We are seeking a compassionate and driven Children & Young People [CYP] Support Worker to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will deliver impactful early intervention and prevention support through innovative programmes in our office, refuge and local educational settings throughout Motherwell district.
Your Impact:
As a CYP Support Worker, your primary mission will be to empower children & young people through a range of engaging and supportive activities, including:
* One-on-One Mentoring: Creating a safe, non-judgemental space for children & young people to build trust and navigate the complexities of domestic abuse and toxic relationships.
* Tailored Programmes: Deliver dedicated support for CYP with lived experiences of domestic abuse, helping them reclaim their voice and strength and belief in positive relationships.
* Emotional Management: Organise and facilitate age-appropriate sessions that encourage children and young people to express and work through their feelings and emotions in a constructive and fun way.
* Practical and Emotional Support: Provide vital support to children and young people referred through schools, ensuring they have the tools to thrive.

What You Bring:
We’re looking for individuals with:
* A recognised Children and Young People Qualification listed on the SSSC website.
* Experience of supporting children and young people in a similar setting to Women’s Aid.
* Strong advocacy skills and the ability to liaise with partner agencies.
* A deep understanding of the dynamics and impacts of domestic abuse and gender-based violence on children and young people.
* Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends and to participate in the On Call rota.
* A valid driving licence and access to transport for travel throughout Motherwell District.
