We’re now seeking an experienced General Manager (Nursing Homes) to provide inspirational leadership, clinical excellence and operational oversight for one of our nursing homes. The Role As the CQC Registered Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the holistic care of residents and the performance, compliance and sustainability of the home. You will lead and develop your team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care, while driving continuous improvement in resident experience, clinical standards and operational performance. You will play a key role in shaping the long‑term vision of the home, planning for future care and staffing needs, managing budgets and occupancy, and ensuring the service continues to meet and exceed regulatory and organisational expectations. You will: Quality, Care & Compliance Act as the CQC Registered Manager, with full accountability for regulatory compliance and care quality Ensure safe, effective and compassionate care through robust clinical governance, safeguarding and risk management Oversee incident reporting, investigations, complaints resolution, safeguarding and statutory reporting Maintain knowledge of current and emerging industry standards, ensuring practice reflects best evidence and guidance Leadership & People Development Provide visible, values‑led and collaborative leadership to the home Lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams, creating a culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement Plan for current and future workforce needs, supporting talent development and succession planning Advocate for and role model the Trust’s values and culture at all times Operational & Financial Management Manage the home’s budget, occupancy and resources to meet agreed performance targets Hold shared accountability for profit and loss Use insight, forecasting and long‑term planning to ensure sustainability and service longevity Lead service improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction and outcomes Stakeholder & Strategic Engagement Build strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues, Trustees and external partners Represent the home confidently internally and externally, including at meetings, audits and inspections Contribute to Trust‑wide policy development, projects and improvement initiatives Collaborate with other General Managers, sharing learning and best practice across nursing services About You You are a confident, experienced leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for delivering outstanding care for older people. You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership and thrive in complex, regulated environments. Essential Skills and Experience Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (Adult – Level 1) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), completed or working towards At least 4 years’ relevant management experience in a comparable setting Strong working knowledge of CQC Regulations and Essential Standards of Quality and Safety In‑depth understanding of dementia care and the needs of older people Experience managing budgets, financial performance and occupancy Sound knowledge of infection control, medication management, safeguarding, DoLS, GDPR, health and safety and risk assessment Strong people management and leadership capability Confident IT skills and comfortable using digital systems Desirable Degree‑level education or equivalent experience Experience undertaking clinical supervision What We’re Looking For We value warmth, integrity and collaboration.
