The Education Safeguarding Team within Quality and Performance is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We work collaboratively with colleagues in Surrey Education sectors to ensure that we keep children safe at all times. As an Education Safeguarding Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people are happy, healthy, safe, and confident in their future. You will provide expert safeguarding advice to local authority colleagues, external agencies, early years providers, and education settings. Your work will ensure that statutory safeguarding obligations are met and that children and learners feel protected and safe in their educational environments. Responsibilities
* Communicating local and national policies, procedures, and best practices to early years, school, and education leaders (including governors), partner agencies, and colleagues.
* Promoting and securing a culture of vigilance in safeguarding children within education.
* Delivering safeguarding training to Designated Safeguarding Leads.
* Supporting statutory education audits and termly data collection.
Qualifications
* An understanding of safeguarding in the education and early years sector.
* Knowledge and confidence to assess risk and support education leaders to produce and action effective safety plans.
* Aptitude to commission, produce, deliver, and quality‑assure safeguarding training, policy, and procedures.
* Ability to provide guidance, support, and challenge within the education sector.
Salary: £36,544 - £39,670 per annum based on a 28.80 hour working week, pro‑rata £45,680 - £49,588 per annum.
