Head of Finance / Future Finance Director

Robert Half isworking with a leading UK hospitality group is seeking an exceptional Head of Finance to step into a high-impact role with a clear progression path to Finance Director within the near future.

The Opportunity
You'll lead the finance function, modernise systems and reporting, partner closely with senior stakeholders, and play a pivotal part in shaping the organisation's financial future. This position is ideal for a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
1. Own day-to-day finance operations and deliver accurate monthly reporting
2. Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax compliance, and balance sheet integrity
3. Strengthen and modernise financial systems, processes, and controls
4. Drive best-practice governance and enhance cashflow forecasting
Systems & Process Improvement
5. Review and redesign current finance systems and internal controls
6. Lead optimisation or selection of financial tools and platforms
7. Champion automation and efficiency across the department
Commercial & Business Partnering
8. Lead annual budgeting and support senior leadership with forecasting
9. Deliver clear, engaging reporting to operational teams
10. Partner with non-finance stakeholders to drive performance and cost improvements
Leadership & Development
11. Lead and develop the finance team, building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
12. Progressively take on broader strategic responsibilities, becoming a business-facing Finance Director within 6-12 months
About You
13. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience
14. Proven background as Financial Controller or Head of Finance, ideally within multi-site hospitality, retail, or FMCG
15. Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to modernise systems and controls
16. Confident communicator with senior stakeholders and operational teams
17. Highly organised and detail-driven, with commercial awareness and leadership ambition
