About the Role: DNV’s Markets & Risk department combines multidisciplinary experts to support businesses through the Energy Transition journey. The Rotating Machinery Solutions (RMS) team delivers products and services to support the operation and protection of rotating assets. This role offers the opportunity to join our RMS team and contribute to client projects from day one.
Location: Stockport office with flexibility for hybrid working; in-office collaboration is encouraged approximately three days per week.
Responsibilities
* Support in-house online monitoring systems that perform remote condition monitoring by gathering real-time data from machinery control systems and data historians.
* Troubleshoot issues, generate reliability reports, and monitor equipment emissions based on collected data.
* Contribute to long-term contracts involving reporting emissions in line with government permits and tracking equipment performance KPIs.
* Undertake short site visits across the UK for testing, installation, and commissioning of condition and emission monitoring systems.
* Collaborate with a team of specialists in a collaborative environment, contributing to technical delivery, project management, and customer engagement.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience with industrial control systems, including data communications and integration (e.g., Modbus and current manufacturers), in environments such as production, oil & gas, or power generation.
* Experience with databases such as OSI PI and SQL, including configuration and use.
* Software development skills in Power BI, Python, and Ignition SCADA.
* Familiarity with project lifecycle documentation (e.g., FDS, DDS, FAT, SAT) is desirable but not essential.
* Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to take initiative.
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with effective written and verbal communication.
* Self-motivation and time management with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
* A degree in Engineering or Science (e.g., Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science).
* A valid UK driving license is essential due to client and site visits.
