Job Description: The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the planning, delivery, and assessment of the Year 4 curriculum for a primary class. Key duties and responsibilities include: Curriculum Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the UK National Curriculum for Year 4. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all pupils, including those with SEND. Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to create a stimulating learning environment. Ensure comprehensive coverage of all Year 4 curriculum objectives. Assessment and Monitoring: Implement a range of formative and summative assessment methods to monitor pupil progress and attainment. Analyse assessment data to identify learning gaps and inform future planning and interventions. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of pupil progress and performance. Provide constructive feedback to pupils to support their learning. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and well-organised classroom environment conducive to learning. Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy. Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and active participation among pupils. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants, other Year group teachers, and the wider school staff. Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, well-being, and any concerns. Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities. Contribution to School Life: Contribute to the wider life of the school, potentially including participation in extracurricular activities or school events. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice. Person Specification: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes: Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is a mandatory requirement. Experience: Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting. Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 is highly desirable. A proven ability to effectively plan, teach, and assess the Year 4 curriculum. Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Year 4. Knowledge of effective assessment strategies in a primary setting. Excellent classroom management skills. The ability to differentiate instruction effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
