We're looking for a Press Officer to join the team on a contract basis, with strong potential for longer-term opportunities.
The role This is a hands-on, reactive press office role where no two days are the same. You'll be managing a steady flow of media enquiries, helping shape coverage, and ensuring the business is represented clearly and confidently.
The focus is very much on traditional media —regional press, broadcast, and print—rather than social or digital-first content.
You'll be supported by an experienced Press Office Manager, making this an excellent opportunity to learn, develop, and gain exposure within a well-established team.
What you'll be doing Managing incoming media enquiries and responding to tight deadlines
Writing clear, accurate and engaging press releases and statements
Building relationships with journalists across local and regional media
Supporting positive media coverage, particularly across Midlands outlets
Assisting with interviews, briefings and reactive communications
Handling sensitive or high-pressure issues professionally
Following structured processes while working at pace
What we're looking for Experience in a press office, PR, or media relations role
Strong writing skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a busy, reactive environment xsngvjr
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Interest in securing coverage across traditional media channels
A proactive, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
Able to be in the Coventry office at least 3 days per week
