We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager for a utilities business who specialise in infrastructure to play a key role in elevating the procurement standards and supporting the company’s growth objectives. This strategic position offers exposure to a wide range of procurement activities, including supplier alignment, market evaluation, benchmarking, negotiations and leading key group initiatives.
About the role
You will report to the Head of Procurement and work closely with leaders across the business to ensure all procurement activity is fully aligned with our overall strategic direction.
* Benchmark and negotiate procurement activities to ensure best value across the company.
* Support the delivery of savings and efficiency opportunities across multiple categories and functions.
* Conduct regular reviews of procurement processes to ensure they remain efficient, compliant and well-governed.
* Lead Supplier Relationship Management activities, collaborating with key suppliers to build strong, value-adding partnerships.
* Engage suppliers to identify sustainability improvements, value-add initiatives and risk mitigation opportunities.
* Own and lead supplier negotiations, aligning with the group supplier base and implementing effective controls to maximise value and compliance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement supports business priorities and operational goals.
* Evaluate the market through benchmarking and multi-quote analysis to secure competitive terms including discounts and rebates.
* Lead and support wider procurement initiatives across defined category areas, including planning and execution of new waves of activity.
* Champion best practice, standardised processes and governance across the organisation.
* Work closely with the Head of Procurement to monitor and deliver KPIs on cost savings, supplier performance and process efficiency.
Person
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in procurement, commercial, finance, supply chain or a related discipline.
* Strong strategic experience in a procurement-focused role, ideally within a multi-site or group environment.
* Proven track record of benchmarking, negotiation and delivering cost savings through effective supplier and market management.
* Solid understanding of Supplier Relationship Management, including performance measurement and risk mitigation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of procurement governance, compliance and best practice.
* Experience in contract negotiation, managing commercial risk and end-to-end procurement reporting and analytics.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, market insights and legal considerations to shape outcomes.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and act as a trusted advisor.
* Resilient, proactive and adaptable, with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
* Strong strategic planning skills and experience driving change and embedding new processes and systems across diverse teams.
