We are currently seeking a DESIGN ENGINEER to join our team at our Craigavon facility in Northern Ireland.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will join a Design team, responsible for design maintenance of current product lines and supporting implementation of new product introductions.
Appointment between Design Engineer II (SG19) and Design Engineer III (SG20) will be considered, dependent on knowledge and experience. The successful candidate could therefore be at an early stage in their career, with a desire to learn and develop, or someone experienced in an engineering or technical role, with a passion for supporting design implementation within a modern manufacturing and assembly environment.
Key accountabilities will depend on the seniority of the appointment and may include:
1. Providing technical support to production, quality, and procurement departments in the resolution of product design/specification issues
2. Supporting new product introductions and troubleshooting integrated control systems
3. Participating in product design and quality reviews
4. Working in a 3D CAD environment to develop engineering designs, producing drawings and bills of materials
5. Liaising with suppliers to define and select optimum components/specifications
6. Managing multiple product changes simultaneously from initial stage through to production implementation
7. Coordination of design tasks with offshore resources
8. Conducting Peer Reviews of Engineering Change Orders
Candidates should clearly demonstrate how they meet the following Essential Criteria:
9. Educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
10. Candidates due to graduate in Summer 2026 are welcome to apply
11. Minimum of one year’s relevant engineering experience in a design/development/manufacturing environment (industrial placement year is acceptable)
12. Experience of developing products in a 3D CAD environment and producing detailed 2D drawings, preferable in Siemens NX
13. Working knowledge of relevant Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
The ideal candidate will also meet the following Desirable Criteria:
14. Knowledge of industrial vehicles and integrated control systems
15. Working knowledge with PLM and MRP systems
At interview, applicants will be required to demonstrate initiative, effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment leading multiple projects.
