Do you have a sharp eye for detail and love being in the field where the real work happens? Norfolk Companies is seeking a Field Technician to join our fast-paced Multifamily Construction Division. This role will work within the Boston Metro area. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to be everywhere at once—measuring, verifying, coordinating, and ensuring that every kitchen and bathroom installation goes off without a hitch.

You'll be the critical link - before a single cabinet is ordered or countertop is fabricated, you'll be there capturing the exact dimensions and conditions that make or break a project. Your measurements prevent costly errors. Your field insights keep projects moving. Your coordination keeps everyone—from sales to installation—on the same page.
Be the Eyes in the Field & Support Project Success - What you'll be doing:
1. Perform on-site field visits to capture precise measurements for kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and countertops
2. Act as the field verification specialist who catches layout issues before they become expensive problems
3. Review field dimensions against approved drawings and flag discrepancies immediately
4. Serve as the main point of contact for countertop and cabinet field verification
5. Coordinate seamlessly between sales, project management, fabrication, and installation teams
6. Capture detailed field documentation: photos from multiple angles, daily logs, existing conditions, and customer comments
7. Submit all measurements and documentation to sales or project management within 24 hours
8. Log hours, site notes, and images in Buildertrend to keep everyone informed
9. Ensure final confirmation process is complete before handing off for ordering
10. Maintain professional presence and safety protocols on all job sites
Requirements
Experience & Skills we are looking for:
11. 2+ years of construction field experience specifically measuring and templating
12. Strong knowledge of kitchen cabinets, countertops, and multifamily construction
13. Ability to measure accurately to 1/16th inch—precision is everything
14. Experience with design software (2020, AutoCAD, SketchUp) preferred
15. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Buildertrend
16. Self-directed professional who can juggle multiple projects and shift priorities
17. Excellent communicator who keeps teams informed and aligned
18. Customer service orientation with strong problem-solving skills
19. Detail-obsessed individual who understands that small measurements make big differences
20. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
This is a physical job and you'll need to:
21. Comfortable walking multifamily buildings and apartment units daily
22. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
23. Ablet to bend, stoop, knee to gather accurate measurements
24. Able to view, edit small text on computer and mobile devices
25. Occasional lifting, climbing, and working on uneven surfaces
26. Mobile and ready to visit multiple sites independently
27. Valid driver's license and clear RMV required

Salary Description Up to $56,500 annually
