Job Description
Our PMO Northwest team is looking to expand its Controls community. We are seeking passionate and ambitious candidates across all professional, senior professional, and managerial grades to support our early careers, grow into leadership roles, and bring their skills to our communities of practice, emphasizing Bringing out the best in Everyone.
With growth in the region including new Major Programmes, Projects, and Clients, we’re looking for flexible and mobile Planning and Scheduling / Performance Reporting / Risk Management candidates to deliver services locally. Travel within the Northwest region may be required depending on the project, which can be discussed during recruitment. You will have opportunities to work across sectors such as Power, Water, Rail, Defence, Nuclear, Local Authority, and Shipyards.
You will work as part of our Project Controls team on high-profile infrastructure projects, providing performance reporting and analysis support. Responsibilities include developing work breakdown structures, establishing progress and cost monitoring methods, producing project control reports, and providing performance analysis and recommendations.
Experience in a project controls environment within sectors like Energy, Defence, Rail, Airports, Highways, Water/Utilities is required, along with expertise in areas such as Programme Controls Management, Earned Value (EVM), Change & Risk Management, Planning, or PMO.
Qualifications
* A qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with experience in a project control environment.
* Experience managing projects, programs, or portfolios within a project or program management environment.
* Proficiency in controls software such as Primavera P6, Power BI, Microsoft Office.
* Reliable, able to work independently and in teams.
* Strong time management, quick thinking, and deadline management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of best practice planning principles and technical schedule construction.
* Experience with schedule quality assurance using tools like Primavera Schedlog, Acumen Fuse, or DCMA 14 Point Checklist.
* Effective schedule monitoring and control, baseline management, progress data collection, performance measurement, variance reporting, and issue escalation.
* Ability to evaluate project status and promote a positive culture in Schedule Management.
