Howdens is looking for a Systems Training Team Leader to join our talented Learning & Development team. In this vital field-based role, you’ll lead a dedicated team of Systems Trainers who play a key part in ensuring our depot teams across the UK and ROI can use core business systems confidently and effectively. From onboarding new starters to delivering large-scale system rollouts, your leadership will ensure training is consistent, engaging, and aligned with our business goals.

What will you be doing as a Systems Training Team Leader:
- Managing, coaching, and developing a team of five Systems Trainers to ensure high-quality, consistent training delivery
- Acting as the main point of contact for the team, supporting day-to-day planning, delivery, and issue resolution
- Coordinating the scheduling and deployment of training across Trade regions for both new starter onboarding and systems rollouts
- Working with SMEs, L&D and Trade stakeholders to ensure training is aligned to evolving business needs
- Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of training delivery, providing feedback and support as needed
- Ensuring all learning materials are accurate, up to date, and effectively utilised
- Supporting the delivery of training directly when required
- Managing team travel, capacity, and utilisation across multiple regions
- Tracking key metrics, reporting on performance, and driving continuous improvement
What do you need to qualify for the Systems Training Team Leader role:
Essential:
- Experience delivering systems or technical training
- Proven leadership or team management experience
- Confident in delivering both face-to-face and virtual sessions
- Ability to explain systems in a clear, simple, and engaging way
- Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication abilities
- Organised, adaptable, and responsive to changing business needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
- Experience in a trade, retail, or depot-based environment
- Familiarity with systems such as K8, CAD, Livestock, Account Management, or ROP
- Experience coordinating training rollouts across multiple locations
