Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of specialist andgeneralist clinical pharmacists, medicines optimisation technicians andpharmacy assistants in delivering high quality, safe and effective care topatients and service users.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) post for a Band 4pharmacy technician who will play an integral part of the medicinesoptimisation clinical services team providing a Pharmacy service and workingclosely within the multi-disciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Have experience of working in ahospital pharmacy post registration.
* Communicating effectively withpatients and/or carers, giving appropriate advice to and counselling patientsand their representatives about how to use their medicines.
* Provide dispensary-based patientservices to inpatients and outpatients including clinical trials.
* Providing medicines management orother technical information to healthcare professionals both within andexternally to the trust to ensure continuity of care.
* Supervising day to day work ofpharmacy support workers and junior staff, allocating tasks when necessary tomeet workload demands.
* Responsible for the contributionto service improvement, evaluation and development.
* Responsible for the safe storageand supply of medicines.
* Carrying out any other duties asmay be required by the pharmacist or senior pharmacy technician in charge ofthe section.

Qualifications
* - Registered pharmacy technician in UK by GPhC
* - Accurate dispensing of medicines *in hospital or community pharmacy*
* - This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy especially medicines reconciliation and medicines history taking
* - Attention to detail and accurate in work
* - Able to use a range information technology programmes effectively
