Role Overview
Cost Engineers support major projects and organizations in delivering accurate and timely project information related to performance against project baselines. The cost engineer drives the cost performance reporting for the project, including all Earned Value Management metrics associated with key project commitments and expenditures.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop project cost control data structures to accurately track and control actual costs.
* Establish and set the project control budget aligned with agreed baselines.
* Track actual costs for internal and external expenditures against the control structures.
* Monitor and control project accruals and commitments against budget constraints.
* Build project forecasts, including estimated work to complete (ETC) and estimate at complete (EAC).
* Report all project information accurately and timely, including Earned Value Management.
* Track project contingency and exposure related to risk events and remaining risks.
* Monitor project change control to ensure alignment with baselines and control data structures.
* Identify key project trends to inform future change controls.
Qualifications
Typically, a qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with five to ten years of experience in delivering project controls services for major projects or programs.
