Job Brief We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic Sports Leader to oversee the smooth and safe running of our autism-friendly sports sessions across school holiday periods. This hands-on role is central to delivering a high-quality, inclusive experience for autistic and neurodivergent young people aged 8–18. You will work alongside a support worker and coordinate with coaches and families, to ensure all safeguarding, health, and logistical elements are in place and followed. You’ll be working directly with young participants and professionals in sport and autism practice, ensuring each session is supportive, engaging, and empowering. Programme: ‘Give it a Go’ Autism-Friendly Sports Taster Programme made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Duration: July 2025 – April 2026 (during school holidays) Hours: 16 hours per week (during delivery periods within the hours 9:00-5:00) Location: Various venues across the Tees Valley ​ Closing date is 30th July 2025 at 5pm. Key Responsibilities - Lead and oversee delivery of safe, inclusive sports sessions. - Ensure completion of all session paperwork, including risk assessments, safeguarding records, and attendance logs. - Liaise with sports coaches, autism support staff, and parents/carers. - Manage and respond to any safeguarding or health concerns on site. - Contribute to end-of-session debriefs and programme feedback. - Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. - Support a positive and neuro-inclusive session atmosphere. ​ This job outline is intended to indicate the broad range of responsibilities and requirements of the post. If you have worked in a similar setting before all the better, but most importantly we are looking for people who share our ethos of improving the lives of autistic and neurodivergent children, adults and families. Essential - Confident team leader with strong organisational and communication skills. - Ability to manage safeguarding and health-related situations appropriately. - Friendly, energetic, and proactive with a passion for working with young people. - Ability to travel to various locations across the Tees Valley. ​ Desirable - Level 1 or 2 Sports Coaching qualification. - Experience (paid or voluntary) supporting autistic/neurodivergent young people. - Background in education, care, or sports settings (e.g. teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff, youth workers, or university students in relevant fields). ​ Ethos & Culture I am passionate about improving the lives of autistic children and adults and committed to Daisy Chain’s values, culture, and ethos.
