Junior Project Manager – Electronic Security Systems

Our client, a well‑established and growing electronic security installer, is looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager to join their operations team covering South Yorkshire and parts of the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Project Engineer looking to take the next step into project management within a supportive environment offering structured training and long‑term career progression.
The role will initially be a hybrid hands‑on/project coordination position for the first 6–12 months, giving you the opportunity to develop your project management skills while still utilising your technical expertise in the field.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing small works security projects with an average value of approximately £10,000, overseeing projects from initial planning through to completion and client sign‑off.
Working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required standards.
Alongside project coordination responsibilities, you will also support with final commissioning and handover of systems where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing multiple small works projects across CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems
* Coordinating subcontractors and overseeing site activity
* Liaising directly with clients throughout the project lifecycle
* Organising labour, materials, and project schedules
* Carrying out site visits and ensuring projects are delivered to specification
* Supporting with final commissioning, testing, and client sign‑off
* Maintaining project documentation and updates on company systems
* Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are met at all times
Requirements
* Strong technical background within the electronic security industry
* Experience working on CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems
* Previous experience in a senior engineering, lead engineer, or project engineer role
* Some experience managing engineers, subcontractors, or site teams
* Good client‑facing and communication skills
* Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyFull UK driving licence
