Overview

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP FOR OUR HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT AND SUPPORT WORKER ROLES.

We are looking to recruit Band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers for our busy Outpatients Departments. We have full and part time positions available across 6 sites: Buckland Hospital, Dover; Estuary House, Whitstable; Canterbury Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital, Margate; Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone; and William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, all of which are part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. Cross site working on other sites within EKHUFT will be required at times to enable us to meet service demands.

Outpatient services are growing and there has never been a better time to join our team and develop your career. We are looking for a friendly and dynamic individual with excellent communication and clinical skills to help ensure the delivery of a high quality, evidence based and cost effective Outpatient service for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Your duties will be varied and will involve chaperoning and supporting Gynaecology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Endocrine and general Medical clinics. Some IT skills will be needed. The department is both challenging and rewarding, with over 1600 patients a week attending clinics. Cross site working on other EKHUFT sites will be required at times.

Qualifications and Experience

* For this Band 3 post, 6 months experience as a Band 2 in an acute Hospital setting would be desirable.
* Outpatients experience would be desirable; applications from other healthcare providers or those seeking a new career are encouraged.
* Applicants must be enthusiastic, demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
* Some IT skills will be needed.

Development and Values

We will provide you with a structured Induction programme and a range of rotational opportunities to enable development of skills across patient pathways. The candidate must be willing to continue with professional development and be aware of the Trust's mission and values. We aim to provide safe and effective care that exceeds the expectations of our patients and the public. We are looking for excellent Healthcare Assistants who embrace our Trust values and care so that:

* People feel cared for as individuals
* People feel safe, reassured and involved
* People feel that we are making a difference
* People feel teamwork, trust and respect at the heart of everything we do
