We’re now seeking a Mechanical or Process Commissioning Engineer to join our Bristol-based team on a permanent basis. This role will play a key part within the BNI and Radwaste team, supporting commissioning activities for complex nuclear systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of 2–3 Radwaste systems and act as the subject matter expert for those systems.
* Develop commissioning documentation for testing and system validation activities.
* Contribute to design reviews, ensuring plant layout and systems support effective commissioning.
* Support the detailed planning of commissioning activities and manage the associated test programmes.
* Execute site commissioning activities to achieve safe and successful system commissioning.
* Analyse commissioning results and produce detailed summary reports.
* Ensure all commissioning activities comply with nuclear, environmental, and industrial safety regulations, applying international best practices.
* Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the project delivery team, site engineering, MEH, and plant operations teams.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified (or equivalent such as HNC) in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Proven experience as a Mechanical and/or Process Commissioning Engineer.
* Background in a highly regulated industry, such as nuclear generation, utilities, oil & gas, or other heavy/manufacturing sectors.
* Baseline knowledge of EPR design or other PWR/Power station designs.
* Strong technical understanding of process system testing (e.g., flushing, pump and valve testing).
* Demonstrable commitment to working within safety and quality-driven cultures.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
* Knowledge of Radioactive Waste systems or fuel route processes.
* Experience in commissioning, maintenance, or operations of Nuclear Island systems, particularly Radwaste.
