BTEC Science Teacher
Dudley, West Midlands
£29,500 - £42,000 DOE
PSR Solutions are delighted to be collaborating with an independent specialist school that is the epitome of dedication to providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education.
Nestled in the heart of the West Midlands, near Dudley, this remarkable institution caters to boys and girls aged 6 to 17, offering a haven for those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The children hail from a mosaic of backgrounds, and many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. The school's work is as varied as it is challenging, and with a trauma and attachment-informed approach, they ensure that all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support.
The school's closely triangulated approach is a marvel in itself, placing the child at the very nucleus of decision-making. This ensures that education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams, and, most crucially, the students, collaborate harmoniously to secure outstanding outcomes. It's a beautiful symphony of teamwork that drives the holistic development of every child, making sure no stone is left unturned.
We are currently on the lookout for a Science teacher extraordinaire! We welcome applications from specialists in any area of Science, as we prepare for the curriculum development for the next academic year. At this school, teaching staff are educators of children first and foremost, with a mission to build nurturing and positive relationships, and to motivate students in ways that are truly inspiring. Our Science curricula span Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE, and you'll be supported by national subject champions who will help you become an expert in facilitating learning for the children you know best.
We seek teachers who are more than just educators; they are magicians who inspire awe and wonder, making subjects come alive with real and relevant lessons. The children here require very special teachers who can manage complex behaviours with a blend of attention, the right communication, consistency, flexibility, and a non-judgemental approach. Our client believes in involving teachers in decision-making processes, contributing to both the academic and extra-curricular curriculum, and bringing their own passions to the table.
In return, you'll enjoy a plethora of benefits, including:
a staff laptop and mobile phone
a competitive salary
extensive training and professional qualification opportunities
small class sizes with specialist TA support
You'll be part of an expanding national organisation that recognises skill, effort, and potential, and nurtures its leadership teams.
Enhanced occupational sickness scheme
Flexible pension
Regular therapeutic and supportive supervision
Employee benefit service with access to wellbeing services, salary sacrifice schemes, high street vouchers, money off eating-out and takeaways
If this sounds like the perfect role for you, don't dawdle!
The closing date for applications is 07/06/2024. And remember, all school-based staff have the crucial responsibility of promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children, working in accordance with the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy at all times.
