As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of electrical drawings and PLC/HMI code on CVI x-ray scanning equipment.

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an Electrical Systems PLC Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent. This permanent role involves working within the Cargo and Vehicle Inspection section of the Engineering team, supporting all stages of the product lifecycle from concept to continuous improvement. The company specializes in detection technology for ports, borders, military, and high-threat facilities, providing tailored cargo and vehicle inspection systems to combat terrorism, smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret specifications and customer requirements from Sales, Project Managers, and Engineering Management.
* Produce technical documentation to support designs.
* Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using Eplan P8 and Pro Panel.
* Export BoM data for electrical hardware.
* Create PLC code using Studio5000 & CoDeSys according to system architecture.
* Design HMI screens to meet system requirements.
* Issue designs into the PLM system via the ECO process.
* Provide technical support during production and commissioning.
* Adhere to company quality and safety procedures.
* Support service actions and respond to ECRs.
* Travel to sites as needed.
Job Requirements
* Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLC controllers.
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
* Willingness to travel and good presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
* Experience with CAD platforms like AutoCAD, Eplan, or SolidWorks Electrical (desirable).
* Experience with PLC programming platforms such as Studio5000 or CoDeSys (desirable).
* Experience programming VFD/Servo Drives within Rockwell environments (desirable).
Qualifications
* Experience in a relevant field of work (essential).
* HNC in Electrical Engineering or related field (essential).
* BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field (desirable).
