Job Summary
We are looking to recruitment a pre-registered Pharmacist Technician Trainee to work alongside our practices and PCN staff.
Our PCN staff currently includes Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacist Technicians, Physicians Associates, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators, Nurse Associates, GP Assistants, Trainee Nurse Associates, Physiotherapist, GP Assistants and Paramedics.
The role is full time - 30 hours. Monday - Friday 8.30am-5pm with a day off in the week.
One day a week the successful candidate will attend The Sheffield College for the Level 3 Pharmacist Technician Course.
Main duties of the job

As well as working within the PCN and General Practice, the role holder will also have dedicated time working and developing skills within a community pharmacy setting each week. The role holder will be working with the support and supervision of our experienced Clinical Pharmacists across the practices within the PCN and community pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities
Attend a two-year course comprising periodic attendance at college to undertake the Level 3 Diploma in The Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians and gathering a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence. (The Sheffield College Course Provider)
Participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve set objectives.
Develop professional and pharmaceutical skills through participation throughout the programmes training rotation model.
Undertake study in own time when necessary.
Be aware of and work within practice and pharmacy procedures and policies, accepted standards of practice and relevant legislation. (E. g Health and Safety, Medicine Act).
Undertake medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols and to update patients medical records / prescribing accordingly under the supervision of the clinical pharmacist.
Support the achievement of the practices prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets.
Participate in medication audits.
Support the Practices to provide patient information leaflets and medicine awareness.
Take a proactive approach to the safe handling of prescriptions, including assessment of risk and making recommendations for improvement.
Responsibility for administration

Computer data entry/data allocation and collation, processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.

Community Pharmacy
Contribute to the provision of a dispensary service for patients, using the pharmacy computer systems for stock control and labelling.
Prepare labels and dispense medicines for patients.
Maintain satisfactory stock levels, storage and turnover of medicines to ensure the quality of medicines are maintained.
Identify actual and potential stock problems to other staff members as necessary.
Complete and maintain accurate records where appropriate.
Issue medicines to patients, including appropriate medicine information.
Using Communication Skills To Receive Enquiries And Other Appropriate.
Information from healthcare professionals, patients and members of the public.
