Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a category management approach to spend and embed the procurement strategy, procurement journey and procurement tools across the department.
* Manage the category teams through a period of significant change to ensure the department develops to deliver an exemplar single system service.
* Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and increase the scope of procurement activity by providing expert procurement advice, utilising public and wider procurement knowledge.
* Interrogate local procurement strategies and implement national and local contracts to deliver excellent value for money contracts, ensuring governance of spend and compliance with public procurement regulations and NHS Lothian’s standing financial instructions, minimising risk to the organisation.
