Heidelberg Materials UK is looking for a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our technical team and ensure our concrete and aggregate products meet the highest standards. What You’ll Be Doing As a QCT, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, responsible for: Testing & Quality Control: Conduct field and lab tests on concrete and aggregates (slump, compressive strength, etc.) Ensure compliance with ASTM, BS EN, and local standards Analyse data and produce detailed reports Material Inspection: Inspect raw materials (cement, sand, limestone, admixtures) Monitor deliveries and verify against specifications Supervision & Mentorship: Guide junior technicians and review test results Share technical expertise and training Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate logs, calibration records, and databases Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders Compliance & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and regulatory standards Actively report near misses and ensure safe working practices Project Coordination: Collaborate with contractors and quality managers Conduct site visits and sample collection Uphold the EDF Code of Conduct for Sizewell C Key Accountabilities Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures Liaise with contractors and internal teams to meet customer expectations Report any defects or issues affecting product quality or safety Maintain site cleanliness, security, and professional standards Support investigations into product issues and site practices Challenge unsafe or non-compliant behaviours Transport test specimens as required What You’ll Need Solid understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance Level 1 Award Training CSCS certification for construction sites Triple Bar Nuclear New Build qualification NVQ qualification in a relevant field Strong communication and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Why Join Us?
