Overview
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical systems and demonstrate expertise in refrigeration and air conditioning technologies. This role involves the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems across various settings, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Install, commission, and test refrigeration units and associated equipment at client premises.
· Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing of refrigeration systems, including chillers, cold rooms, and display cabinets.
· Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
· Ensure all installations and repairs meet relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
· Complete all relevant documentation, such as service reports, risk assessments, and compliance certificates.
· Provide technical support and guidance to clients on the operation and maintenance of their systems.
· Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and breakdowns, sometimes outside of standard working hours.
· Keep up to date with the latest industry developments, technologies, and regulations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
· Recognised qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent).
· Proven experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
· Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
· Good understanding of health and safety practices and regulations.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Working Conditions
· Work is often carried out on customer premises, including supermarkets, warehouses, and food processing facilities.
· May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in cold environments.
· Protective equipment and uniform provided as required.
· Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet client needs.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
