At Cura Terrae Land and Nature, we believe in doing work that makes a genuine difference—for our clients, our environment and our people. With over 30 years of experience, our Archaeology team works across the UK.

With offices nationwide and our roots in the ‘Outdoor City’ of Sheffield, we combine national reach with local insight to provide first-class support to our clients and partners, delivering sustainable, high-quality solutions. As we grow, we’re looking for a confident and collaborative Archaeology Supervisor to join our team and help deliver high-quality archaeological services with integrity, professionalism and purpose.

We are seeking individuals who want to learn new skills and take on a variety of projects and types of work. Following the award of future projects, there may be opportunities for contract extensions, for working with colleagues from other regional offices, and to gain a range of office- as well as site-based skills.

About the role:

We are actively looking for Archaeology Supervisors who possess real enthusiasm for their work. We are happy to hear from candidates with a range of relevant experience and welcome applications from those early in their career, as well as those looking to move up to Supervisor roles. Applicants should be based in Southern England or North East England (Up to one hour commutable to Basingstoke or Sheffield), or willing to move, and possessing a clean driver’s licence is essential.

With a generous healthcare scheme, £500 refer a friend scheme, a starting point of 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and 100% payment of professional membership fees, our employee benefits are among the best in the industry.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure all archaeological project work performed meets professional standards in accordance with Company policies and procedures and is legally compliant.
* Maintain proficiency in any or all the following: excavation, field survey, post-excavation skills.
* Work safely in accordance with Company Health & Safety requirements and report any health and safety concerns to the project lead.
* Be able to work independently with instruction and direction from a project lead, and be responsible for day-to-day running of site works while supervising small teams.
* Mentor trainees and less-experienced Graduate Trainees and Project Archaeologists in accordance with the Training Programmes.
* Proactively manage your work, and that of assigned staff, to ensure tasks you are responsible for are delivered in accordance with agreed scopes and timescales.
* Carry out post-excavation duties under direction to scope, time and budget. With support and guidance, be capable of competent reporting skills, including pre-commencement documents.
* Accurately report all time and resource spend on tasks in the specified timeframe and format.
* Carry out all and any other such duties, including geophysical surveys, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

What you’ll get in return:

We’re committed to helping our people thrive, and that means more than just a job title.

At Cura Terrae Land and Nature, we’re more than just a workplace—we’re a team. You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive culture where your voice matters, and your development is supported.

* Clear values: team-focused, honest, and inclusive.
* Opportunities to work on a wide range of projects.
* Training, mentorship and professional development.
* A positive environment: we care about safety, quality and each other.
* Make a difference: your work will directly impact project delivery and success.
