The candidate will have a successful track record in the delivery of relevant courses. As well as teaching, the successful candidate will also have responsibility for a tutor group.
Truro and Penwith College are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Civil Engineering Lecturer to join our team on a variable hour's basis. The successful candidate will primarily deliver the L3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship programme and may also contribute to the T Level course in Design, Surveying, and Planning.

Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering Engaging Lectures: Teach the L3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship with informative and industry‑aligned lessons.
* Specialised Instruction: Cover topics in civil engineering, design, surveying, and planning, ensuring both practical and theoretical learning.
* Curriculum Development: Create lesson plans that reflect industry trends and course requirements.
* Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing feedback and support.
* Industry Integration: Stay updated on civil engineering advancements and incorporate them into teaching.
* Mentorship and Support: Guide and mentor students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
A Civil Engineering degree or a related field is required, with a teaching qualification preferred or a willingness to obtain one.
Candidates must have industry experience and strong maths skills, especially in civil engineering applications.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
A passion for teaching and mentoring is key, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The role requires flexibility in teaching schedules and the ability to deliver lessons both in‑person and online.
