Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager/Associate Director - VAT to join our team in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing VAT operations, providing expert guidance, and driving strategic initiatives to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions for our clients.
* Lead and manage a team of VAT professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to develop their skills and expertise
* Oversee complex VAT projects and engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction
* Develop and implement VAT strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize efficiency for clients
* Conduct thorough reviews of VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
* Provide expert advice on VAT matters to clients, including multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals
* Stay up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and communicate implications to clients and team members
* Collaborate with other tax and advisory teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients
* Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client presentations
* Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on VAT-related matters
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of VAT operations
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA)
* Proven experience in VAT consulting or corporate tax roles
* Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams
* Advanced knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance
* In-depth understanding of VAT legislation and its practical application
* Knowledge of international VAT/GST systems
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office suite
* Demonstrated project management skills
* Experience in building and maintaining client relationships
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
