Contentious Probate Lawyer – South Yorkshire
Build your own department. Shape your own future.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a contentious probate specialist to take the reins and create something of their own within a well-respected and supportive South Yorkshire law firm.
What’s on offer?
-Lead and grow – Set up your own contentious probate department from the ground up, with full support from the wider firm.
-Team building – Recruit and shape your own team as the department grows.
-Real work from day one – There's existing work available, so no following is required – though strong local contacts and relationships in Yorkshire will be key.
-Realistic lead-in time – You're not expected to bring everything overnight – the firm understands the importance of letting things grow the right way.
-Location – You'll be based out of the firm’s Sheffield office, with flexibility to consider other South Yorkshire locations.
-Hybrid working – After an initial settling-in period, enjoy a hybrid working model – 3 days in the office, 2 from home.
-Progression – Genuine opportunity for directorship or partnership with shareholding potential within 3–5 years.
-Work/life balance – Friendly firm culture with sensible working hours, six weeks' holiday, bank holidays on top, and office closure over Christmas.
-Financials – Competitive salary for the region, alongside a discretionary bonus scheme.
Who we’re looking for
-A qualified solicitor or legal executive with solid experience in contentious probate.
-Someone commercially minded and keen to lead, build and drive their own department.
-A self-starter with strong networks and relationships across Yorkshire.
-Someone who enjoys a hands-on, collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
This is a unique platform for someone ready to step up and make a mark – with full backing, flexibility, and a genuinely supportive team around you.
