About The Team And The Role
At ORL, we want to exceed our customers’ expectations and make the shopping experience as simple, smart and inspiring as possible. As a Manager of Product Discovery, you will have responsibility for the management, coordination and implementation of the Product Discovery strategy on the site, ensuring enhancements to the customer experience and driving conversion. The role focuses on delivering best-in-class product discovery to help customers shop more easily while delivering commercial results.
What You’ll Do
* Strategic planning for product discovery, identifying opportunities to improve the overall customer shopping experience and coordinating with cross‑functional teams to address customer pain points.
* Optimise and drive a strategic plan for search, identify issues, solve problems to improve search and overall conversion; create and maintain guidelines and processes for consistent customer experiences through product delivery.
* Own end-to-end planning and execution of seasonal plans to optimise search.
* Make insightful trade-offs and prioritisation decisions to optimise merchandising and product discovery.
* Lead the brilliant basics plan, including methodology, stakeholder engagements, resource allocation and roadmap development to support project requirements.
* Conduct external research and internal analysis to shape the product discovery roadmap, collaborating with Product & Proposition roles and Groups to continually optimise features and algorithms.
* Create, implement, deploy and maintain taxonomies to structure content and improve search.
* Lead review strategy and manage day-to-day relationships with third-party reviews providers.
* Lead the team through coaching and guidance to carry out daily E2E site walks across key landing pages to ensure primary tagging represents best practices.
* Share continual best-practice recommendations within the Merchandising and Ecommerce teams.
* Drive high-performing teams; manage a team that handles site administration while promoting team engagement.
Who You Are
* Experienced leader with experience in an online or e-commerce role within a retail business.
* Customer-focused with strong commercial acumen and understanding.
* Strong analytical and data skills.
* Highly organised with a collaborative working style and ability to influence at senior levels.
* Excellent communication skills and sound decision-making.
* Nice to have: strong market awareness of technologies and tools within the customer experience and product discovery space.
